Pastor Ozzie Vater is a native of Philadelphia, PA.

 

He holds a BS degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronatical University in Daytona Beach and the Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas,.

 

He has been  a pastor since 1982, serving churches in both Pennsylvania and Central Florida before arriving at Fifth Street in December, 2007. He is a member of the Florida Baptist Convention's State Board of Missions and serves on the State's Committee on Nominations.

 

He is an FAA-licensed pilot holding Commercial and Instrument ratings, an avid motorcyclist and a fan of Philadelphia's major sports teams.   

 

He and his wife, Nancy, have 5 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
